Tesoro supports STEM at BGCC with Three-Year $450,000 Grant
Thanks to a generous $450,000 three year grant from Tesoro Corporation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson is launching an innovative STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program for middle school students. In partnership with Tesoro, our youth will participate in fun, hands-on STEM activities that address topics that surround them in everyday life.
Our STEM education programs provide youth with additional opportunities to investigate phenomena, integrate school day learnings, and acquire new knowledge through the scientific method of inquiry. Tesoro's commitment will allow the Club to hire a full-time STEM Coordinator who will develop engaging STEM programs and provide training and coaching to BGCC staff leading weekly STEM activities.
The BGCC is excited about the possibilities for the hundreds of kids our clubs serve every day and what this investment means for their future academic success. Thank you Tesoro for your commitment to youth!
